Samyang announced that it participated in the 2026 Natural Products Expo West (NPEW) held in Anaheim, California, from March 4 to 6, showcasing its specialty food ingredients and AI-driven sugar reduction solutions to expand its presence in the U.S. market.

NPEW is one of the world’s largest natural products trade shows, featuring approximately 3,200 companies and attracting more than 70,000 food industry professionals from around the globe. The exhibition provides a comprehensive overview of the latest trends in the global natural foods market. Samyang has participated in the event for three consecutive years, accelerating its efforts to expand into overseas markets.

At this year’s exhibition, Samyang highlighted its proprietary “3S (Smart·Simple·Successful) Sugar Reduction Solution,” an AI-based formulation design program. By inputting sugar-reduction targets and cost parameters during product development, the AI analyzes the data and recommends the optimal ingredient blend. The formulations incorporate Samyang’s specialty ingredients, including the alternative sweetener allulose and the soluble dietary fiber resistant dextrin.

By utilizing the 3S Solution, customers can efficiently identify formulations that meet their sugar-reduction targets, helping shorten development timelines and reduce R&D costs. Samyang plans to further enhance the system to expand its applications across a wide range of food categories, including ice cream, sauces, bakery, and confectionery.

In addition, Samyang showcased its specialty ingredients such as allulose and offered tasting samples of caramel in which corn syrup was fully replaced with an allulose-based solution, allowing visitors to directly experience the functionality of its ingredients.

Beyond this exhibition, Samyang plans to further expand its global outreach by participating in several upcoming international food ingredient trade shows, including IFIA Japan 2026 in May, IFT 2026 in the United States in July, and HI-Japan and SupplySide Global (SSG) 2026 in October.

“By participating in this exhibition, we aim to strengthen engagement with customers seeking to apply alternative sweeteners in key product categories such as beverages, bakery, and confectionery in response to the growing sugar-reduction trend,” said Jisuk Jung, Head of Samyang Corporation's Business Unit. “We will continue to enhance our presence in the global food and beverage market by providing tailored ingredient solutions to our customers.”

Meanwhile, Samyang Corporation is building a specialty ingredient portfolio centered on allulose and resistant dextrin. Nexweet® Allulose is an alternative sweetener that delivers about 70% of the sweetness of sugar with zero calories, while Fiberest® Resistant Dextrin is a soluble dietary fiber that may help support regular bowel movements, moderate post-meal blood glucose levels, and improve blood triglyceride levels.
