Samyang Corporation (President Nak-Hyun Choi) announced that it participated in Health Ingredients (Hi) Japan 2025, held in Tokyo from October 15 to 17, to introduce its specialty (high-functional) food ingredients and the solutions developed using these ingredients.

Hi-Japan is Japan’s largest exhibition dedicated to the health and functional food industry, featuring functional ingredients, natural extracts, analytical equipment, and the latest market and technology trends. Bringing together more than 650 global food companies and distributors, the event provides opportunities for business networking and trend analysis. Samyang Corporation has participated for six consecutive years to strengthen local partnerships and expand its market presence.

At this year’s exhibition, Samyang Corporation focused on promoting resistant dextrin, a soluble dietary-fiber ingredient known for its health and formulation benefits. Resistant dextrin is a functional dietary fiber that helps △ improves gut health △ lower blood glucose & glycemic response △reduces blood triglycerides level. In addition to these health benefits, it enhances texture and stability in food systems, making it ideal for blending with low-calorie sweeteners. Since 2021, Samyang has produced both liquid and powdered forms of resistant dextrin under the Fiberest® brand for domestic and international markets.

To engage visitors, Samyang offered tasting samples featuring its resistant dextrin, including a high-fiber triple-functional beverage, and concept prototypes such as pectin-based gummies and low-calorie snack bars developed using the company’s AI-driven food-solution platform.

Samyang’s AI-based solution leverages data-driven formulation design to significantly shorten product-development timelines and flexibly respond to diverse customer needs. The company plans to further advance this AI-based solution and expand its application scope beyond gummies and snack bars to categories such as ice cream, sauces, and bakery products.

In addition, Samyang exhibited its flagship specialty ingredient allulose, a rare sugar naturally found in small quantities in nature. Allulose provides about 70 percent of the sweetness of sugar but contains almost zero calories. Samyang supplies both liquid and crystalline forms globally under the Nexweet® brand.

Lee Sang-Hoon, Head of Samyang Corporation’s Food Business Unit, stated, “Through this exhibition, we emphasized our technological excellence and solution capability by offering tasting samples formulated with specialty ingredients using AI technology. Going forward, we will accelerate our global expansion through proactive participation in international exhibitions and local regulatory engagements.”
